ok, so here is me blowing the lid of the show in short hand-
1. the island is a total experiment in the human psyche, run by hanso. but its gone a bit wrong...ill get to that
2. the hatch serves 2 purposes. first the computer is an experiment in fear. second, its a massive magnetic feild generator to attract ships and throw off planes instruments to the crash there.
3. walts mother didnt take him away just for her job. she took him away because she realized he was 'special' and he spent time with Hanso. i do think he has partial control over what happens on the island.
4. the black smoke that tried to kill lock...this is where its all gone wrong. i think Hanso may have killed off a native tribe to take over the island and 'the security system' is really a little ju-ju black magic trying to get back at any and every human it can.
5. evangeline lily's love for me is so deep and unbridaled that she actually looks directly at me, and only me, numerous times throughout the show. the sweat on her brow in not from the heat, its her lust for some vic. i have good reason to believe there was a deleted shaving scene in the shower scenee that will appear only on my copy of season 2's dvd, at her request. time will tell.

good theories except for the obvious questions about how The Black Rock ended up there since it was a wooden sailing ship as far as we know, and shouldn't have been susceptible to a magnetic force. Unless it was full of ore at the time. it's entirely plausible though that the ship served no purpose except to allow the lostaways to find the dynamite. How did it get so far inland anyway? Also, it would seem to predate the time of the experiments.
I'm still convinced that Vincent has some larger role than what we've seen so far. He always seems to be around when something odd happens.
I get the feeling I'm the only person on the planet that hasn't seen this show.

as for the black rock...thats easy. the black rock was a pirate ship that was set out to kill noah during the great flood...they were distracted because this island was the only land mass above water during the the flood, so they stopped. the indigenous people (who had taken to the higher) ground killed and ate the pirates. when the waters receded it left the ship on high ground where it was anchored. this even is one of the major reason jesus never helped tribes people or pirates.
